We just finished a 6 night stay. What a place! Located in the forest with beautiful views of the snow. Great onsen after skiing. The staff are so helpful and friendly and they made the stay all the more better. The rooms are cozy, breakfast is AWESOME...we really looked forward to it every morning. Laurie L

The highlight of our stay was the incredible staff. I booked the room last minute and was informed immediately via email that we would have to switch rooms between our 2-night stay. Upon our arrival, they arranged it so that we didn't have to move and could stay in the same room. From the moment they picked us up at the Hakuba bus terminal, everything was taken care of! They provided us a ride to rent our snowboards and took our gear back to the hotel so we could go to dinner immediately after.  Stephanie W

 This was our second stay in the hotel in the last 3 years and we found significant improvement since our last visit. We just spent 2 weeks in DB and had a fantastic stay. Our room was very comfortable. The hotel has both male and female onsens which can be booked privately. The staff could not do enough to help us. Good shuttle service to various slopes was available daily. They would also drop us off in town, even at short notice. Definitely recommended Jean H - Australia

Having been recommend to stay at Double Black we were not disappointed. Its proximity to the slopes; the local village & its warm homely feel throughout makes it all so much easier for first time visitors to Hakuba, like our selves. Steve B - Australia

 The service, friendliness and professionalism from each and every staff member we encountered was 1st class - the drivers, the front desk, the bar and restaurant staff all the way to the management was outstanding. All were only too willing to help - from early morning until well into the night. All in all, a great family experience, where we arrived as strangers but left as friends - probably our best holiday EVER.   This place is one meticulously run lodge, the rooms, bar/lounge area, onsen & vehicles that take you wherever you need to go for the day are all clean & very well looked cared for! The Staff are AMAZING, which I have found hard to find over the years in other Ski destinations (Whistler being one of them)as usually you are dealing with very young inexperienced Staff! This is not the case here, the Staff are young & obviously given all the right training before they hit the floor well done DB management!!  THANKYOU for a wonderful experience, we will be back & will be bringing our family & friends next year  Jean B – Australia
